Circle Brings Native USDC to X Layer, Raising the Bar for Stablecoin Routing

Native stablecoin issuance can remove a bridge layer. The user still needs a clear path through liquidity, gas, and destination assets.
Circle has launched native USDC and its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol on OKX's X Layer, according to current posts from X Layer, OKX Wallet, and CoinMarketCap. X Layer says the native asset replaces its earlier USDC_Bridged representation, with CCTP support and Uniswap available from day one.
The rollout gives X Layer a stronger dollar settlement primitive. It also creates a useful test for cross-chain trading UX. A native asset can move 1:1 through a burn-and-mint protocol while the best trading route still depends on pool depth, asset identity, gas, and the destination a user wants next.

X Layer's official announcement describes the move from USDC_Bridged to native USDC issued by regulated Circle affiliates. The post also highlights full reserves, 1:1 redemption, CCTP readiness, MiCA compliance, and support from Uniswap.
The announcement reached a large audience quickly. An OKX Wallet post described native USDC support on X Layer and cross-chain movement through CCTP. A CoinMarketCap update then highlighted the live launch on OKX's Ethereum Layer 2.

Circle describes CCTP as a permissionless utility that burns USDC on a source chain and mints native USDC on a destination chain. The CCTP documentation describes a 1:1 native transfer model that removes the need for a traditional liquidity pool or a wrapped token during the transfer.
